Cakes, tea, delicate little finger sandwiches, leisurely chats, not to mention the bubbly! I love everything about afternoon tea so I wasn’t about to turn down an invitation to have afternoon tea at The Park Plaza with fellow blogger Nicki (Cardiffbites).
This pink afternoon tea is extra special because it is in collaboration with Breast Cancer Care Cymru so while indulging, you’re also giving to charity. It is available all through October which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
After a sip of the Veuve Clicquot Rose Champagne, we descended on the sandwiches (ham and mustard, egg and cress, salmon and cream cheese and cucumber) before moving onto the sweet things. I started my sweets with a lovely Pink Marshmallow and Coconut Lolly Pop followed by the Champagne and Strawberry Jelly because I thought these were slightly unusual and they satisfied the child in me.
Appetite firmly wet, it was the turn of the very girly pink cupcake complete with sugar shoes and then some cute little macaroons.
Last but not least, feeling very full it was the turn of the Red Berry Vanilla Infused Scone.
After a discussion about which should go first, jam or cream, we cut into them to find they were bright pink! A nice touch and a reminder of the charity it was all in aid of.
The girly pink themed sandwiches, cakes and scones are served with a glass of Veuve Clicquot Rose Champagne and a choice of either breakfast, earl grey or green tea.
It costs £25 which is the same price as Park Plaza’s other afternoon tea but with 8% of the cost being donated to the charity. Lovely as a treat after a long days shoe shopping!
